Random chafing noise after cam belt change
Odd problem after a cam belt, water pump and tensioner change.
Every so often, after seemingly random intervals, the car starts and it sounds like the cam belt is rubbing on the plastic housing. Turn the ignition off and start it again and the noise is gone. It can stay silent for weeks and then off it goes again. Switch off and on again it it sounds fine.
The car is smooth, engine sounds dead smooth despite having 101k on it and it pulls fine.
Has anyone had this before? The tensioner was definitely set up and torqued correctly.
