: Handbrake

Hi Dave,

Just a little question to (hopefully!) assuage my paranoia!

Is the handbrake on the R25 supposed to be dead centre and perpendicular to the chassis, or is it supposed to be angled towards the driver?

Getting stuff out of the boot today I noticed it seems to be angled towards the driver's seat. I had the bit of plastic trim around it off the other week, and although I thought I put it on right, the rh side of the lever rubs on the trim. I'll alter that when I get a moment, but I know I haven't changed the angle of the lever itself!

Cheers,
Martin.

Martin...don't worry

With use, the handbrake lever tends to tip over towards the driver, caused by the application of the handbrake itself.

All that is needed is a firm shove over towards the nearside to recentralise the lever. A fair amount of effort will be required to do this but fear not, you won't damage anything.
