: :(
Well I was told yesterday that my car sailed though it's MOT, bar the fact that the handbrake wasn't tightening enough and that a re-adjustment was required, great I thought, nice and simple.
Anyhow upon further inspection, one of the rear calipers is sticking. My problem is that I have left the car with my Father, 100 miles away. Anyhow the garage have quoted £75.00 + VAT fitting, is that reasonable, please reply quickly??
Is that Labour only? for swapping the rear calliper?
It not too hard a job, and really shouldn't take more that an hour. Also, it's often possible to "free-off" the existing one. What car is this?
That ain't bad, if it's for a caliper.
Steve220 06-03-2003, 12:49 Servicing it yourself with new seals stops em from sticking. well it has done with both my front calipers anyway.
Ste
normally I'd assess the work and probably do it myself, but i'm going on holiday next week. After pricing up the part i think 75 quid + VAT for part and fitting is very reasonable.
Oh well that's 300quid for All the belts changed, full service, MOT and caliper. Not too bad I suppose
Thanks for the replies BTW
yeah, the garage I use have been very good to me, although they did overcharge me for my car, which I don't mind, cos this is the only thing that has gone wrong.
Just out of interest Dave, how much would a dealer charge.
Rear Calipers are £148 each from MGR!
right, i'll go and think myself lucky then
May I suggest you celebrate by means of a few beers? :beer2: :p
did that, regretting it now!
Hair of the dog Sir
would love too, but can't see ma boss being to happy. Hmm maybe I should try though! :D
Ask the boss to join you ;) :p
well, we had a pint at lunch, but i don't think that helped, was on the boss though, so can't complain
