: Electric window problem

Finally took delivery of my ZR105+ yesterday, and well pleased with it! One problem tho....
The drivers side electric window packed in today, completely stopped working. A guy from the AA came to take a look at it because it was half open when it broke and obviously I didn't want to leave it like that! It turned out that a fuse had blown, but the AA man said that something must have caused it to blow, either a dodgy motor or something jammed in the window. Going to book it into the dealer on Monday, but in the meantime, anybody know what it could be?

Thanks

Dave - the connectors which connect the door looms to the main loom can come loose and prevent the window working.

Open the door and look at the area of the door hinges. You'll see a wiring loom coming from the body to the door; Give the loom a tug where it goes into the door and I bet it will come loose!

This is the first place we look at when faced with inop CDL/Power windows.

Give the plug a firm push back into its socket and all should be well. This dodgy connection could cause the fuse to fail.

while on the subject of drivers window is it normal for it to open completely at the press of the button...or can it b incremently opened like when closing it?? (the passenger one does this when opened and closed)

The driver's window has a one shot down facility which can be interupted by flicking the switch into the up position, which immediately shuts the one shot relay down.....if you see what I mean :)
