623iS 01-05-2006, 21:23 Hi, Just recently I had the Oil and Cambelt changed on my Rover 623iS. When I had it back from the Garage the engine was ratting like a bag of nails. So I ask the mechanic the reason for this and he said it is due to the fresh oil. So I left it at that. One month on and it it still rattling but it rattles more when hot than cold. Also, the performance dramtically reduces when hot aswell. Could anyone help? l33 byt 01-05-2006, 21:26 Get it back asap if the work was warrented! Could be any thing. It sounds like the hydraulic lifters or somewhere in the region of the valvetrain to me. Could the tappets need adjusting as the Haynes manual state that they need to be adjusted every two years? | |
