Anybody got any idea's i've tried the maf sensor and the intake sensor and still the light is on,the turbo is boosting to where it should with the mafam box on,I'm pretty much at the end of my teather with this car now as the light is on more thats its off.I am very tempted just to sell the dam thing as i've had enough!!!

sorry to hear about your problems, dont bother checking your maf again as this sensor doesnt trigger the engine management light.

my lights only came on once and this was due to the throttle potentiometer, this usually puts the car into limp home mode though so doubt this will be your problem.

you may have a chafed wire(try near no 1 injector)

Or crank sensor? - I think the chafing problem was sorted out by the time ZR's came along? Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

I've read on here that if the light comes on when you turn the ignition on, goes out briefly, and then comes on again, chances are the fault is not happening at the time - it's just the newer engine management system on the ZR's and 25's keeps the light lit after a fault code is stored, even if the fault is no longer present.

I had to have my fault codes cleared recently as I had cranked the engine with the ECU plug disconnected - cost about £35 at an ex Rover dealer. After clearing it it hasn't come on again in about 1000 miles, so I think the above information is correct. Apparently the fault codes can be cleared for about £20 at a Krypton tuning agent also.

Hope this helps,
Tim
