Does anyone in Birmingham have anyone they can recommend as a diesel engine specialist.

I have thought about a sticky about this for a while so we can recommend experts in the areas that are good at what they do.

Does this mean no one uses garages or no one can recommend anyone?

Over in peterborough, there is perkins engines.

A well known diesel specialist, the were involved with the original 'l' series design etc.

I know of somebody who lives in north yorkshire, and comes to peterborough to get his 45 and 25 serviced.

Hope this helps

Swadlincote Diesels - unsurprisingly in swadlincote. Never actually had work done there, but heard good things. Might be worth a try.

I worked in the failure lab at Perkins a couple of years ago - never heard any bad things about the service garage. I would say that travelling from Yorkshire just for a service though is a bit extreme, unless they're letting people take the diesel Hummer that is parked over the road out as a courtesy car - now that would be fun!

Don't know what you want done but you won't get better than taking it to www.lates.com (http://www.lates.com) in Coventry. He writes on here often and is highly regarded by members that have used him. He will explain and let you have a look if needs be. And I don't think you will beat his price. He loves doing cambelts ! !

I am wondering if there are any diesel engine specialists who can be recommended in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

I'm not after a 'usefull garage' I am trying to find an engine specialist who only works on diesels.

I am planning to keep my car for a couple of years so want someone I can trust 100%

They look very impressive, just a pity they are so far away.

I need someone to check the pump timing on my car and need someone close to brum who could help me.

Can noone recommend a good diesel specialist in or close to brum?
