I phoned Peco today and its mid June until my bacbox is available and they dont have a delivery time for the middle pipe.

4 what its worth a mate spent approx £500 maybes more on a 1.4 Motor the same as yours
Exhaust,Air Filter,FSE Valve etc etc & it cannot get near my standard un modified 1.8 NOT the Vi either
Much better IMHO to spent the extra in the first place on a bigger engine... Not that helps ya a lot in the situation :( 8)

Don't forget that VTR may have had some mods in the engine dept and it is a 1.6 and a lot lighter than the ZR but come on I know whats better! THE MG I am sure its a better drive all because that boyracer in his little poncy saxo probably ragged the a** out of his motor so he can tell all his mates he beat an MG theres no need to worry.
It frustrates me the mentality of some people who actually like racing there brand new motors like a lot of people on this site have stated what cars they have beat then on other posts they are moaning about insurance premiums isn't it a wonder they are so high.
Good sake I really am in a mature mood tonight.

The panelwork is soo flimsy on the Saxo - it will be lighter but the MG wins in the good-looks dept hands down!

Spot on Dave my sentiments exactly besides its only really a cheaper version of the 106 GTI.

With regards to insurance ZR120 vs modified ZR105

I would think that with most mainstream insurance companies you'd pay more for the modified car - certainly places like direct line don't like it. After all, they don't know how well the mods are fitted, or exactly what sort of extra performance they're likely to deliver - they're dealing with unknowns, they don't like that, and so they charge you accordingly...

Insurance isn't too bad on a 218iS, but was high enough for me to make me think twice, and I'm 27 - can't imagine it looks too rosy for the 17yos :(

Insurance....whats to worry....

My 250bhp "214Si Turbo" has just cost me £2000 for fully comp insurance.

I'm 22 with 1 years no claims.

You should really put a turbo lump into the ZR - then you'd whoop any Saxo you care to meet.... not to mention the M3's, Scoobys, EVO's..... :)

Phil - have you any pics of the 'business' end of your car?

I'd be very interested to see it :)
