Dave,

What is your opinion on so called 'performance enhancing' fuel/engine additives ?

Would you expect an engine run on super unleaded to be in a better condition than one which uses regular unleaded ?

Also, what about Shell Optimax, is it just a fancy name for super unleaded ?

What would you suggest : Optimax, Super, Additive or Normal unleaded ????????

In my experience (and drawing on others) I find there is no direct benefit of using Super Unleaded or S**l Optimax....any difference you might notice would be down to you 'thinking' it is performing better/smoother/better MPG etc.etc..

As for engine condition after using the different fuels? No difference whatsoever.

So my answer is.......97 RON Unleaded!:)

Oh, and by the way, don't bother with any fuel additives to increase performance, either!

Saying that, it is considered good practice to add a small 300ml can of fuel system cleaner [available at all motor factors/Halfords] at each service to keep the injector nozzles clean and ensure clean exhaust emissions8)
