No, just transfer it over and make sure it's correctly tensioned.

The little black thingy that clips the cable to the abutment bracket? Take it out of the bracket and place it in top of the bracket.

Adjust the collar up or down to remove all slack from the cable, then refit it into the bracket. The cable is now set up :)
