hi ` if anyone can help i need some advice, im thinking of buying my first ever rover ? its a 1993 820 si auto 65000 miles six months m.o.t, its from a work coleague, it was his fathers car for the last 2 years but he passed away recently and now he just wants to get shot of it , i've had a look at her and she looks a nice car and drives well BUT ? theres a few things im not sure about there seems to be a small engine oil leak from the left hand side by the gear box , and at about 2000- 3000 rpm a tinny or rattle sound,also the gear shift is completly strange, its got a lever on the front to lift and change from "p" R" D" and so on. but you can push the lever from "p" to 2nd without touching the the under lever if that makes sence.the other problem is when your in " p" change to " R " nothing happens go " N " and your in R / go to drive nothing , go to 3rd and your in drive ? he only wants £200 for it so is this a bargain or a money spender has anyone ever heard of these problems before on a car thats only done 65000 ?
