Was looking at the Focus brochure, the performance figures are pretty awful. Maybe it handles very well, but the figures for 0 - 60 are slow. Even my mk2 rover 1.4 is than the 1.6 in standard form.

Really disappointing, 'cos it was car I was interested in looking at getting next year. Maybe I'll stick with Rover and get a MG.

Thoughts?

Had a 2 litre Zetec as a loan car for a few week a while back. That was quite fast excluding the ****ty first gear pick up.

ST170 and the RS are both cracking motors if a little twitchy!

Although MG's are better....


Look at the G / H plate motors around.... Rovers are often Mint looking.... and G reg Escorts.... well... erm..... says it all really....

Used to have a 1.8 lx focus, it was slow by any standards.

I swapped if for a 1.4 Fabia and that was quicker!!!!!

Yeah they arent fast, a (normal) 2.0 focus is only as quick as my 216. They are also very common now (as in common as muck).

To be fair at least when the Ford focus came out Ford were brave withthe styling. Unlike the Vectra from Vauxhall. Its aged a lot now though
