I posted a while back that I was thinking of getting a Focus as a next car, for the bigger space, comfort etc.

At the moment ive got a W reg 1.4 Rover 25 iL, 68000 miles on the clock.

Theres someone at work selling a V reg Focus 1.6 Zetec with 45k on the clock for £2600.

Does anyone think that this would a good deal to sell mine and get this car? Id hope to get about £1800 for mine.

Thoughts anyone?

seems about the right price for the focus as thats got very low mileage.

Focus is a nice enough car, good to drive (from what I've heard).

Why not get a 45 or something? be cheaper and probably nicer.

The Focus is a nice car, but as a V reg, you'll probably find you'll be replacing parts on it. I always find that once Ford's get over a certain age, they tend to go down hill very quickly.

sounds a bit expensive to me.

Decided Im gonna stick with the Rover 25 for a bit, I may save a bit of cash and get a newer focus, like a2003 -4 model.

Good plan, but if ever you reconsider, dont go for the alloy block 1.6's they are a pig to work on and are gutless.

The 1.8 or 2.0 are much more reliable and easier to work on, not to mention easier to drive.....

The mk2 focus's are generally of lower build quality than the mk1's - i drove a mk2 1.6er the other day and it was rattling like a box of ball bearings! The materials used are better than the mk1 focus, but the way its screwed together is dire for a new car!

Im thinking now of a previously suggest idea of a rover 45 instead of focus, as with alloys they do look quite nice , as do the older 400's.

Would prob go for 1.6 or 2.0 diesel
