I've noticed that sony released a dual shock for the ps3 - i.e. theyve added the vibration function - anyone know when they're out over here?

 do'h, NOW I see it! my bad!
I never trust the whole ''seller is in london, hong kong'' thing on ebay.. oh well, just in time for my birthday lol
I thought the dual shock thingy was removed as it infringed copyright stuff? Wonder if it will filter into new units eventually?
I thought that the vibration was removed because it messed up the sixaxis thingy :err:
It was all down to supposed Patent Infringement. Excuses were given at the time, but pretty much only because there was a legal wrangle involved, so they couldn't really discuss it. I hate all these patents that aren't necessarily about unique features. It's akin to if someone had patented "Putting an engine in a car in order to make it go"?
However, it was all resolved about a year ago, and the DualShock3 was borne. It's currently only available in Japan, but is quite hard to get hold of.
It's still relatively light-weight, and the power charge isn't as good as a non-shock version.
Rumour has it there is an advanced form of controller feedback in development that is more precise, more localised in the controller, and offering more sensations than just a simple spinning off-axis motor.

You're both right!
Sony had to remove it after they were sued by Immersion. Sony said they removed it because it screwed up the Sixaxis. Whilst it may be true, Sony & Immersion have since buried the hachet and are talking once again.
The DS3 will be over here early next year and quite a lot of games have been patched to support the rumbling feature.
I thought it was more them getting sued by Immersion for copyright infringement I thinks Clicky (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601101&sid=aD4EnYnmB6uk&refer=japan)
edit: ah I take too long to reply
