Yep, only when cold it seems, on my zs 180

Ill start it in the morning a VRUUUM it revs at 2.5g. I'll sit there for a bit and put me radio face on and turn me heaters on etc and ***** around doin other stuff (was a turbo owner for years so this is just something im used to doing lol) Then off i go up the road, through the gears, but come to a stop and its reving HIGH lol

After a bit of a drive, it goes back to normal

Almost like a choke?

OK, so, ive got the ZS rattle. Will this be causing it or is this a seperate fault do you think?

Im sorting the "ZS rattle" lol next week

Car had a big fat service on Sunday, so thats all good :-)

Is this going to be a case of me just soaking the cable etc in WD to stop it sticking or is there something else i should do?

Cheers guys

Check for oil in there, there is a small solenoid in the top that often gets gummed up.

A little bit more involved, but you are more than capable with a set of spanners - if someone like me with no tools, no time and no patience can do it ;)

You need to remove it from the top of the throttle body, whip the breather off (and get a catch tank fitted too while you are there) the plug and the larger throttle hose. There are then two bolts (i think they might be security ones) holding the solenoid on - whip these off and its all easy to clean from there.

//edit - use that much better guide above!

I have the same problem, but it only occurred after i had cured the dreaded rattle by repairing the VIS motors. I remember when i was watching my old 120 get serviced, the bloke carrying out the work, removed that valve and said that they always get gummed up.

It could also be the potentiometer. Mine was faulty and caused erratic revving.
