: Central UNlocking!

Does the keyfob for a 216 GTi ('92) only lock the doors because I can't figure out for the life of me how to get it to unlock them? Its a standard Rover alarm, the fob is simply a black oblong with a single black rubber button set to the top right, a red LED to the left and ROVER in faded red lettering printed underneath.

I'm sure it should unlock but maybe it doesn't. I've tried pressing and holding the button, pushing it twice, standing on one leg and reciting Monty Python whilst pressing but nothing.

This sounds like an approved MGR alarm system which we used retro-fit at that time

I reckon the remote is kaput

Spares? No chance

Mnnn.... Weird how it locks the car though and when I press it again (to unlock) I can hear the locking servos moving but this only seems to try and lock it again.

Thanks.

I had a thought that I haven't had time to check. What about a fuse that's blown because the alarm doesn't seem to want to activate either.
