when I press the air con button you can hear a motor noise. but the car don,t get any cooler.
any ideas. thanks

Can you hear/see the compressor engage?

Have you got the heat setting on cold and the blower on?

If the compressor is running, you need to check that the pipes are getting cold, if they are you also need to check that the pipe that runs from the bulk head along the n/s and into the reciver drier at the front is getting warm, if it isnt it could be the valve in the bulkhead stuck, if the compressor is not running you may have an electrical problem, or you might have lost all your gas (punctured air con rad) or leak, or it may just be low on gas, systems do loose gas over a period of years and it may just need a regas.

start engine leave door or window open when u press the aircon you should hear a click as the magnetic clutch kicks in , revs shold also raise slightly say from 900 to 1200 then some times drop back to around 1k.

having problems with my aircon still too, when i got car it wasnt working very well after bumping it around it start working great really cold , so had it regassed now it sucks again :(, just doesnt seem to get very get cold.
