hi people. i drive a 620 ti. its been in the garage for some work done but im not impressed. its just cost me £1700 for head skimmed & de coked, head gasket, boost valve, bleed valve, dump valve, and turbo technics stage 1 hybrid. its running 150bhp @wheels but mechanic said i can turn up boost and run about 190@ wheels safley when run in! what do you think? 150 seems a bit low to me.
yes sounds very low for a Ti. Should be around 200 in standard form. Less the losses, but still think there is something wrong there. With the bits you have I would expect around 220, so maybe the 190 at the wheels would be okay.
if your head has had recent work and upgrades it will be running low boost while you run it in, thats why you dont have the power for the minute.

(Nice to see ya posting mate)
mechanic said 150 was standard power @wheels for this car. Its got to go back for final set up, but iv just quit work so i need to find another job!
150 'ish is about right for a standard at wheels figure so do'nt worry there :)
Tells us what you know about the spec of the turbo technics stage 1 hybrid and we can tell you what your looking at power wise. Either way do not raise the boost over 12psi on a standard intercooler for everyday use as Ti's have notoriusly soft pistons in standard form.
I would'nt use a "bleed" valve either to raise the boost (they are not acurate or effective enough on these cars) use one of these http://www.gb-ent.com/ most other T16 Turbo owners can tell you power delivery is much better than a bleed valve!
Have fun :)
not sure on the spec of the turbo. i was told by t/t it can take 260bhp but seemed reluctant to tell me if i would gain any power (without turning up the boost) Iv always been dubious about bleed valves, not too sure how they work. I wont turn it up untill i get a guage to tell me what its doing!
apparently the cylinder heads are not supposed to be refaced on these dont know why but that is what the rover bible says so if the garage advised this i would ask them why
