We have a rover brm le, which we've had from new. Its a great little car, and we have had no problems with it in 4.5 years and 60k miles.........apart from, the bloomin tyres keep deflating, like we've got porous rims. Noticed some corrosion around the inside of the wheel where the tyre bead seals, and wonder if its this, rather than pourous rims like allegrois used to have!!
I have again heard this is quite common with these wheels, which I believe were also the original MGF race car wheels.
If it is common, anyone know of any cures. We've used atyre sealant and its helped, but not cured it, and are now a bit fed up of it, after near 5 years!!
I will get them refurbed if it will cure it, but other than this problem they are in as new condition, never kerbed once!!

Any help greatly appreciated. :beer2:

yes this happens on my BRM and has done since i bought it in Jan 2003 - i pump the tyres up to 30psi every week, by the next weekend, they're down to about 22/23...

Anyway, my local garage has said they know how to sort it, they take the tyre off the rim and paint the inside of the wheel. This helps to make the seal when the tyres go back on, problem solved.

And yes, my wheels are corroding, but you can just get them refurbished - £20/£30 a wheel I think.
