Hello, first post etc... anyway i have a 214sei N reg (old grandad shape) which looks ok as it is because its colour coded but my front bumper is slightly mashed due to some woman hitting it.

Anyway i want to get a kit or something instead of getting a new bumper from the scrappy. I saw my exact car yesterday but with nice bumpers on that i thought were from the Rover 220 ( tomcat? ) which i really liked but i didnt know for sure if they were off this so does anyone know if they fit anyway? Or if anyone knows of any kits i could buy that are not too mental, just want it to look modded but nice. Also i wouldnt want to do it myself as im crap at this stuff, i can take a bumper off and put it back on but sparying and anything else i have no clue so i would like to get it done somewhere, money isnt a problem really.

cheers

Liam,

Firstly the bumpers u r on about from the tomcat do fit ur car. U could try and source some at ur local friendly breakers yard or try Best of British, cant remember the number, but im sure someone will chip in!

Secondly take them to a bodyshop, get them to prep n spray, u take them home and spend ur weekend fitting them with the help of a good mate! Voila job done!

Mate,

Ive had a bit of a mare with places myself. Ive got a 2yr old 25 that some Wan*er decided they wanted, couldnt defeat the security released the handbrake and ****ed into a wall after smashing all my windows and nicking my ice! U can imagine what all that broken glass did to my lovely anthracite paintwork!

Ive been to quite a few places but no one has satisfied my expectations so ive bit the bullet (gulp!) and took it to Rover and been extorted! But at least i know it'll b a top job.

Basically take it to a few garages, get a feel for the place (does it look like somewhere with good standards), ask to see some work (or look at jobs in progress) and compare prices.

I can recommend Halls Tyres for tyres, suspension and the like. They have just setup a little mods side to their venture. I get 17" Falkens 451s for £65 a corner which is like £10-15 cheaper on average. Its located behind the secondary school at the top of Soho Rd (nearest W Brom) turn at traffic lights where kwik save is and its on the left bout half a mile down rd.
