: Samco hose kits for ZS180
zs180-warp 08-09-2002, 23:52 Spoke to the boys from Samco and they stated that if they received around 8-10 requests for the Samco kits for the ZS180 then they would produce them. Now I for one would love to have a colour coded engine bay, to go with the sexy looks of my ZS180.
So all we need to do is find out who wants the kits and send them a note or drop them a line stating that we have x amount of people wanting these kits and they will produce. They currently don't make them so they need 10 people purchasing to make thier money back.
Hope there are others like myself that would like have a really nice 180 engine bay.
Nick
Yeh! & 4 the ZR 160, so posters..... get request's in asap, so I can get the kit for my ZR! ;) :p
RichardPhillips 09-09-2002, 11:25 I'd be interested in knowing a ballpark cost figure, even if that's based on another V6 engined car. Are there any more details on what a hose kit would contain? What colour hose options are there and I suppose this mod would affect warranty? I haven't looked as yet, any weblinks with details?
zs180-warp 09-09-2002, 17:53 will look into it. I will try to find out how much a kit would cost for both the ZR & the ZS. They will probably come back to me and say the same as they doid on sunday, "it all depends on the amount of hoses we have to create."
Would be interesting to find out what the MG rover club administrators have to say about the numbers? would be good if we could get other clubs to join in and help get the numbers for the kits. ;)
Dave would the samco kits effect the warranties on our cars, if done correctly?
Nick
zs180-warp 09-09-2002, 18:20 The hose kits contain as many hoses as are possible to replace.
The weblink is http:www.samcosport.com
here is an insert from the site:-
.: HOSE SPEC :.
Standard Colour: Blue
Colour Options: Black/Red/Green/Purple/Yellow/Orange
Standard Hose Max Temperature: ~ 170ºC (338ºF)
Size Tolerance: ± 0.5mm
.: COLOURS :.
All Samco Sport hoses are produced in a high gloss finish and are available in the standard Samco Sport blue or optional black,
red, green, purple, bright yellow and orange.
I'm sending them an e-mail to see exactly what it would take to create the kits for the MG's.
Nick:bandit:
Yep, great ideas!
After seeing all the T16 turbos at Trax, Samco hoses seem to be the way to go....:bgrin2:
Like this, but in blue, huh?
zs180-warp 10-09-2002, 18:30 O.K guys i got a reply from samco, I paste it for you:-
Nick
You would need to get 15 people to buy a kit. If you could send us a set of hoses we could give you a cost. If we make the kit we would send a free set to replace the originals.
Regards
So Dave who do we need to speak to in order to
a: get a set of hoses sent to samco in order for them to price up the set.
b: Get a mail going round the forums of not only MG-rover.org but other clubs in order to get the sets created?
Now I'm interested.:bgrin:
Nick
The only way Nick is to buy a set of hoses - I'll take a peek later and cost them up
I'll do the engine cover at the same time, too :err:
zs180-warp 11-09-2002, 18:16 okily dokely we'll discuss this at donny in the park, thats if your going?:twak2:
Yeah, more than likely, Nick, yes I will be there.
I'll bring your steering lock up with me :D
OK, I will be there, OK?
zs180-warp 11-09-2002, 19:14 Ha Ha, that's what i like to hear. PMA (positive mental attitude!) hehe, all i gotta do now is convince my ex that she really wants to look after my daughter that weekend?:twak: no worries blackmail always works.
Nick
Bring her along!
On second thoughts, perhaps thats not such a good idea
The car in the photo looks to me like a renault 5 gt turbo ?? Am i right dave ??
Yep :D it sure is.....a green one with a noisy-ass sound system that gave us boys a headache at Weston Wheels
I recognised the engine bay, I used to own a Renault 9 GT turbo. (Same engine but in a saloon car) BUT I totalled it on a country lane, trying to over take a tractor. It is a shame because they are becoming a rare car.
