Right, this is a very far long shot but I'm trying to source some printed Roewe brochures and can't really navigate the site. Can't read it!!

Can someone that can read the language please tell me if they are available and if I can get any.

What do you mean by "if they are available?" They are on sale and quite available in China. If they were available in the UK you'd be able to look at something like www.roewe.co.uk - but they aren't.

Whether you can get one depends on how much you want to buy one in China and then self import it to the UK.

I just tried it and it works fine - damn is it funny though so be prepared "glory prestige automobile" wtf?we all know that if Roewe is pronounced "Rong-Wei" we can't wait for the Roewe satnav. ;)

Or for the episode of Meteor Shower 2 where the women explain "that cool young man is driving the Roewe up a one-way street!" :lol:

Do a translate of 荣威 into English (listen to it! ;))

Note that 威 means "prestige" so this is a typical Chinese autotranslate of the type that makes B*W "Valuable horse"...

The individual syllables of a Chinese name are chosen to reflect well on the whole...

All online translators have the translating ability of a 5 year old. They can read the words alright, but they have no idea how to put them together in a way that makes sense. The further removed from each other the two languages are the worse they are at making readable translations. Try translating Farsi to English for another laugh at how badly one colourful language translates to another.

the story goes that in the very beginning of mainframe autotranslation there was a program translating English to Russian and vice versa.

They translated "Out of sight, out of mind" into Russian and translated it back into English.

They got "invisible idiot". :lol:

One reason why Chinese is so difficult to translate is that each syllable can also be a word in its own right - e.g. "Wei" = "Prestige". Plus names of towns etc. mean something, e.g. "Nanjing" = "Southern Capital", "Shanghai" = "Above the Harbour".

Add to that that "automotive" is spelt "steam" and only a few years ago autotranslate was giving us South the Steam and Above the Steam for NAC and SAIC.

One word which often occurs in autotranslate for Roewe is "majestic"...
