Hi Dave

You replied to me regarding wind noise recently in respect to the door mirrors on my 2000 45, I have had the fix fitted but to of no avail, I have noticed that there is a slight gap between the door and the actual mirror fitting where it is attached, could this be causing the problem? What bonding agent do you recommend I use to seal this gap

Thanks in advance for your help and support, this forum is informative and very interesting, in fact I have told my local dealer to check on it from time to time !!!!

To identify a source of wind noise, use a piece of masking tape to cover possible joints etc to eliminate/confirm the area causing the wind noise.

If the noise goes :D then you can concentrate on that area to cure the noise:) =P

Great idea and with the weather the way it is there should be no problem finding the wind :-) and what about the bonding agent?

Ah yes, the bonding stuff......run of the mill windscreen sealant or RTV Silicone Sealant would suffice:)

Windscreen sealant is available at many motor factors and RTV Silicone sealant is no different to Bathroom Sealant, you know, the stuff you mend your shower with :D

Just make sure you don't get it on your hands/trim/paintwork, as it is a real pig to get off>=(

Hi Dave

just got around to sealing my door mirrors and I can tell you that it was a real success !!!! I have read about other MGR owners complain about wind noise and can now confirm that "Dave's fix" works wonders. I also fittef new tyres, Bridgestone S02s, they have also made the car a little more quiet. If I was to add more sound proofing to the car what would you suggest and where should I start. Thanks again for your valuable support
