: 420 SDI - Acceleration Problem

I ahve an intermittent problem that I'm hoping someone could help me with. Occasionally when I accelerate I get to 2000 rpm and then nothing at all, I can press my foot flat and get no response. If I 'blip' the throttle every thing is fine again.

It only seems to happen if I decelerate and then accellerate, from a standing (idle) start it never happens.

Any ideas ?

its on the drivers side next to the power steering tank.

i could be wrong here but thats what i would check first..

Yeah, it could be the potentiometer; does this fault happen after braking?

If so, I'd take a close look at the brake pedal switch adjustment, this has a direct input into the EDC ECM.

Thanks for the help people.

To answer your questions No the Engine management light doesn't come on and yes it does happen after breaking, which is a pain when it does happen as I travell every day on the M25 :(
