: Where is BRM No. 1???
After having my BRM a few months I've just joined the owners club. My letter came through today and it turns out that my car is No.2!!! :D
So does anyone happen to know what happened to No.1??
Is yours a T-plater then?
They had trouble shifting the BRM's due to the fact the RRP was £18K :omg: so there are loads and loads of V registered ones around which had been sitting around for a while. All the ones I have seen have been T and V so it's unusual to see an S. Cracking car though. Very distinctive and certainly not run of the mill.
Anthony.

don't the first/last cars off the rover production line go to the national motor museum. i'm sure the last metro/100 went there.
might be there!

I think you mean the British Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon.
You are partly right - although it was usually the last of the line of a particular model range, ie Rover 200, or Rover SD1, rather than an individual model. I may be wrong, but I think a special edition like the 200 BRM wouldn't have been given the same honour, good though it is.

So how did you find out it's number 1?
I never understand the numbering thing to be honest, I know some special editions have a plate or something inside which usually says something but didn't think the BRM had this as there was no official run of number for the car.

I think it can be worked out from the VIN numbers for the cars.
Blimey this was a fair few years back. I've learnt a lot more about them since then. Turns out the build numbers were basically completely wrong that the OMC supplied, they omitted quite a few BRM's from the build listing including the 6 press cars. Fun and games.

Just thought I would add, BRM SKI is thebrm.co.uk member/owner who confirmed it as No.1.........so he already knew lol
shaunbing 18-04-2012, 07:12 I don't think I would like to own number 1, simply for the reason that in all honesty I think it had to be kept 100% standard, and if I had a BRM I would change some things.

Quality.. I'd have been all over trying to find No. 1. I got No. 794 so second to last built for the UK market.
