hi guys hope you can help i have just got a r reg 600 from a mate for my son to drive for a while but there are a couple of problems, the first is the alarm locking fob wont work i have changed the batteries and the leds flash ok but the car doesnt respond, i have to use the key which is ok, also i cant find the bonnet alarm switch anywhere and i guess the boot is protected by the boot light coming on and triggering the alarm or should there be a switch too , the second problem is one fog light is missing and the other one is knackered any ideas on how to replace them ,i cant seem to find any anywhere. cheers for now aj:slap:

if the key fob is lighting up when u press either button then chances are its lost its coding and with out the pin number for the fob it cant be coded i had this issue last yr,

Hi and Welcome.
The Bonnet alarm switch is part of the bonnet lock.
Have to keep a watch on local scrap yards and ebay for fog lights, unless you can find someone on here with a set for sale.
Plenty of post on here about alarm problems, you may find the answer to your problem using the search facility.
Check that when you take the key out of the igintion switch, that the gate in the lock closes, if it's not closing the alarm will not arm, with the remote, the central locking should still be responding.

Rover 200 1990 to 1995 , rover 200 coupe, 400 90 to 95, and 800s all use the same front fog lamps as the 600. They arn't sided either which is handy.

Really sad i know this but 1980s renaults use the same front fog lamps but they are yellow tinted but identical apart from that if yours are smashed and see some in a scrapyard. found this out when working on a friends renault 5 gtturbo.

my remote fob also stopped working, easy fix, just get a fob and the alarm box (both must be from the same 600 to work) the alarm box is bolted to the rear right wheel arch in the boot behind the side carpet. I so wish I knew this earlier as i would of fixed my remote central locking much earlier!

The r600 owner's manual says that after changing the fob batteries, you have to unlock the car using the key then, operate the lock button on the fob button atleast four times and the fob will synchronize with the keyless entry receiver.

I Have the same problem With my Rover 620 GSi 1999, how Did you fix the problem? And i also Have No fog lights, dö you know where to get the online? I live in Sweden.

Had the same problem withe key fob so bought a box & the fob from a guy on here , easiest route to take

Mine does it if it is locked /unlocked using the key. I have had it since Jan but not got a battery for the fob yet
