i have fitted a new dab radio jvc kdb-52 in my zs
no problem but i cant get it to sit back far enough to clip in the cage
the wires cant seem to tuck out the way
any advice on your experiances as im sure may people fit many head units
i had a kenwood in before which fitted fine
cheers
john
Seems to be a common problem, it's suggested to remove the glovebox and try getting your hand round the back to pull the radio loom through to give more room.
As above, you might also have to hack part of the plastic inner bits away.

Feed the excess loom through the hole that is above and to the front of the opening, just leave enough to reach the back of the opening when you slide the head unit home.
I've just fitted a kenwood DAB unit in my ZS, the choice of stations is so much better than on FM.
What did you do for an ariel? I used a DAB splitter that takes the original down lead and gives a DAB amd FM outputs.
This is tucked to the right of the head unit, the steering wheel controls adaptor is to the left.

P.S the above is the O/E fitting method.

P.P.S. I have the following attached to my H/U
Steering wheel control adaptor
DAB splitter
Auto changer (do you know how hard it is to find a compatable H/U nowadays)
2 x Sub jack leads..............

i used the jvc windscreen aerial excellent reception very surprised
i havnt got steering wheel controls
i use my phone htc phone through the front usb as it picks up all the folders on my memory card
it makes it a lot easier to fit ,if you get busy with the hacksaw blade
just enough to get the wires thru the back-left of the plastic holder
it seems the mg zs was designed it to be as hard as possible to fit an
aftermarket head unit ,just no room at all for extra wires
and euro audio connectors

well it all adds to the fun of having an mg
and as i have only had her a few months i enjoyed my 1000 mile week at the isle of wight boy did the little car enjoy the twisty roads ....just not the bumps lol and nearly 40 to the gallon
was a good test for the head gasket i did
