All,

Came across a reference to this post on the 75 and ZT club's forum in another thread (forget which), but I thought it may be of interest to anyone about to buy a Trafficmaster clock for their car:

From what I can decipher, the Freeway/Oracle service from Trafficmaster is due to be switched off in June 2012, and it seems (but check for yourself, please) that this is the service that the in-built Trafficmaster alert system in 25/ZR/45/ZT clocks and the ZT/75 dash uses.

I was just about to buy one for my 45, after getting a refund for being sold a duff one by a breaker on eBay. Close shave, now I'll just get a standard clock instead.

Hope this is useful to everyone.

Does anyone find it even remotely useful? I can't fathom the one in oh 25.

Been mentioned on here already (in several threads over the last few months).

No sad loss in my opinion - the alerts are woefully inaccurate; you either find yourself already in standing traffic when TM alerts you, or you find you have made a long detour around a traffic problem which didn't actually exist. I gave up taking any notice of mine a while ago.

Shame, I've found it useful at times.

But its impressed several friends who were amazed that such a thing was ever fitted as standard to "crappy old Rovers!"

Quite often I've found myself sat in the traffic before being alerted of it. Besides which, it's all very well being alerted of the traffic ahead but only if you know how to divert around it.

I have found it usefull, usually its at 1 in the morning on a long drive home and I get allerted of road closures or congestion 30-40 miles away. Having said that at the end of the day it looks good but actually is pretty useless, shame to loose a gadget though.
