Hi,
I have a Rover 414 ('97) with 69K on the clock and I have a problem with the rear suspension.
A while ago I noticed that there was a 1.5cm sag in the rear suspension from left to right (when looking at the back of the car). I have since had the compliance bushes in the trialing arms replaced, and the springs have been replaced and shocks checked. However, the sag remains.
I have measured the length of each spring when stationary and the left side is more compressed than the right (by about 1.5cm). This would suggest that there is more weight in one side of the car!?! (the boot is empty by the way). Do the lateral links effect the height in any way?
Further symtoms are a knocking noise from the rear left hand side (the higher side) when going over small bumbs and the right hand rear tyre is starting to wear on the outer edge.
The car has not been in an accident either.
What can it be?? As I understood it the springs sets the height.
Please point me in the right direction as I am running out of ideas.
Thanks in advance for your help.
