Hi All
Bit of a long shot
I need help from someone who is mech minded to drain a 1.8 75 tank. My son added 5 lires of what he thought was petrol to an almost empty tank, the car started splutterd and died the local garage have it but i do not have the funds or time for them to mess around and they are talking of removing tank. If any members are not to far away I could pay for your fuel to get here and drain the tank and get her going.

Hi Gary,
Is this thread a duplication? or have you decided it's too much for you to do?

Gary,
Take out the back seat and try and find the fuel guage mechanism its usually covered by a plastic circular trim cover. Take that off and undo the nuts all round this should give you access to the tank. I don't know if the access will be large or small. Use a soup laddle or the like to scoop out the foreign liquid. You then have to clean out your fuel lines maybe by turning the car over on the battery with the fuel line to the trottle body disconnected. You may need a spare battery as your may go dead during this process. Good Luck with it:errx2:
