Hi :-)

Great forum. I wonder if anyone could be kind enough to help me. I have a single fob for my car. For some reason, the immoboliser will not respond to the fob (usually after the car has been idle for a few hours) and the car will not unlock.

As a work around I've been disconnecting the battery and resyncing the fob etc. I learned of this procedure from an AA man.

I'd really like to disable the immobiliser all together. I've been down the local dealer and he's given me the EKA code (or as it says on his written card - EILA code).

I don't have the owners manual for the car, could someone please tell me how to correctly enter the EKA and disable the immobiliser all together?

(Here's what I've tried..... With the immobiliser engaged, turn the drivers key anticlocksize fourth times, turn clockwise x times, anti vlockwize n times, clockwise n times, anticlockwise x times etc) . After the third digit is enters the horn sounds once but the immobilizer does not dis-engage.)

Again, anyone with the manual could probably solve my problem in seconds..... I also read something on this forum about a five second delay? Is this relevant?

Many, many thanks,

Steve

Hmm.

Found a procedure which seemed to work (hodge podge of reading from the web and experimentation). Maybe time will tell.
Starting with the immobiliser engaged (door obviously locked).

Insert key, turn clockwise and hold for five seconds, then release to 12 oclock.
Turn anticlockwise and release to 12 oclock x times
Turn clockwise and release to 12 oclock x times
Turn anticlockwise and release to 12 oclock x times
Turn clockwise and release to 12 oclock x times
Finally, turn anticlockwise to unlock the vehicle.

Can anyone confirm that this is what the owners manual says? (Maybe I missed a big caveat or something).

Am I also correct in thinking that this is only deactivated until the next successfull press of the key fob?

Many thanks again,

Steve

Lock the car (Arm the alarm with the plip?) and let everything settle for 30 secs

Then...

Turn anticlockwise and release to 12 oclock x times
Turn clockwise and release to 12 oclock x times
Turn anticlockwise and release to 12 oclock x times
Turn clockwise and release to 12 oclock x times
Finally, turn anticlockwise to unlock the vehicle.

and upon the unlocking of the car on the final digit, the red LED on the dash should go out and all should be well until the plip is used to lock the car again
;)

This WILL work aslong as you have the RIGHT CODE!
