Hi
I appear to have entered the rather strange world that my local friendly garage is lost in!
'93 214 16v Multipoint inj - exhaust/cat tested ok but car failed emissions test dramatically - garage lost interest and as car only cost £350 and is solid and passed mot on all other details seems a shame to throw away!
Any help very much appreciated
Jeremy

Yup could be anything from a dodgy coolant temperature sendor to a duff lambda sensor to a duff relay as I found out this year with mine which is almost exactly the same motor. All are pretty easy to test and change though. The cat is the most expensive to change but i managed to get mine to pass without changing mine and my CO readings were 3.6%+

Yup I asked many questions on the subject and eventually got my car to pass in the last 2 seconds of an extended 2 minute test at 3-4krpm.

My problem was a duff lambda sensor heater relay but I still think my car is running a bit rich even now.
