: BRM rear headrests?
Mike12345 17-12-2004, 23:47 Hi all
Can BRM rear headrests be fitted?
I know in the normal mk3 rear bench the holes are already there, just wondered if the holes are there in the BRM...and more to the point, if Rover supply the rear headrests.
I aint got a BRM or anything, just curious!:)
I saw a BRM once with Headrests. Looked like the front ones, that had been put in the back mind you. Didn't look to good either with 3 headrest along the back
Mike12345 24-12-2004, 13:34 3 looks naff, besides the fact you cant see very well in the mirror i would imagine!
2 looks ace, gives the 200/zr series more a complete look and more up market.
You can tell if the holes are in the seat back as you can feel the dimples in the seat foam. The head rests should be available but I would not put money on it. The kit is very easy to install as well. If you put 3 in it look's a mess and blocks whatever vision you did have.
I got two in the back now. They do look ace and I've been told my car is much more comfortable to sit in the back of now.
Surely the holes are in all of the seats?? Then its just a different cover thats put on them when the are manufactured. Cant see the financial sence in making more than one seat frame for the same type of car.
Only problem is, obviously you have to slit the seats to put them in, and I wouldn't fancy cutting leather.
Mike12345 24-12-2004, 23:50 Ye the holes are in all the cars rear benches, just as you say, different covers.
Ive sold rear headrests before:)
I just cant see the BRM headrests on any EPC, and never seen them on any pics of brms either, so just thought maybe Rover dont actually do the red leather rear headrests.
?
empsburna 25-12-2004, 10:13 i cant find the holes for mine, i'd have liked to tidy up the interior a bit.
Mike12345 25-12-2004, 22:26 All along the top of the rear bench...just feel...there are holes...
EASY!
Trust me!
empsburna 26-12-2004, 11:00 do they have to be specific rear headrests or will front ones fit?
Mike12345 26-12-2004, 12:16 Rears only fit the rear, and iirc, they are about 40quid each for the cloth ones from Rover.
I sold a pair for £40 last year, only ever found one pair, standard 200 cloth trim, that had them in...well...seen one or 2, but scrappy understandably not willing to split from seats.
Steve220 26-12-2004, 12:43 i'm so glad mine come with them as standard :D They do give it an upper class feel, but so does alcantara ;)
michaelb 26-12-2004, 13:08 they are very rare on the 200's. they are found a bit more often on the 25/ZR.
my iXL has them as standard and i must admit they do look good....took a bit of getting used to though!!
The holes are there in the BRM but no red leather rear headrests were ever available AFAIK. The only option for a BRM is to recover a normal rear pair.
empsburna 28-12-2004, 11:59 i aint spending £80 for the sake of an extra £10 when i sell it then. bugger :(

Exactly what i though, no red leather available:(
I should have just asked that question in the first place me thinks!
