: Forum Suggestion

I have noticed on the forums lately that there seems to be those people who are open to the idea of mods and those who go on a bit of a rant at the merest mention.

So how about making a new forum section where people can talk about the merits of modding with people of like minds?

Keep up the great work.

... and even a 'Non Modding' Forum for those who are averse to the idea...?:D

Is it possible to add a topic called "Top 10 posters" under "forum stat" to show who send the most replies? Dr Dave would be pleased! hehe:D

Surely that would be xenophobic and childish?:D

I didn't mean it like that. I meant for boy-racers in their "souped up" cars that look so customised, they look pathetic and i hate them. Nothing to do with the other thread titled "xenophobia"

Hi Jonesey

I was only jesting - honest mate. :)

Yes customised cars can (and more often than not do look pathetic) - but there are some beauties out there.....

Of all the customised cars round ours, only one looks good: A c-reg SD1 in BR green, gold alloys and a cosworth rear wing. oh year i forgot...an exhaust like a waste paper basket! :)

ARRRG! why the hell do they stick "MOTORSPORT" stickers on the windscreen!>=(

Dr Dave

:) I notice that everyone has been smart enough to avoid the "Xenophobia" thread in the new unmoderated forum like the plaque!! Smart move people! I think that topic is a bit too radioactive. Whilst I don't advocate censorship, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to delete it. (just think of it as responsible "toxic waste" clean up!)lol! If you want to reply to this, do it in that particular forum (In a new thread please)Stephen:)

hello all i disagree with sum of the comment in here. i own a rover 416, but am well into my car modding. i grant u that there r 2 many rubbish modified cars out there and quite often idiots r behind the wheel. but i wud like 2 represent the more sophistocated end of modifyin. 1 where the sole purpose is to b individual, make your car just that bit special, not just stick a motorsort sticker on a very old escort and race aroud like a fool. but 2 create sum of the most spectacular cars on the roads and just 2 b different. it is wrong of u 2 suggest we r all in the same boat. many people who wud call them selves "maxers" r no where near worthy.

Agree. am 17 meself and i think there's nothing wrong with customising cars. But some people go too far ...b-reg nova, 19in ova-the-top allyos, Motorsport stickers, doin wheelspins and H-B tunrs in a tesco car park.

Very well said Ben, I know what you are saying and couldn't agree more. Some modded cars I see are very well done and the desire to the individualistic is understandable. Its a bit like the guy in this month's Revs mag, hes modded his Supra up to 500bhp, and actually says that he did 170mph on the A1, to "see how fast it would go". Oh, and to top it off he put Aston Martin badges on his car!! Its people like that who should really be locked up. There is no excuse for doing 170 on a public road - want to see how fast you can go? That's why places like Bruntingthorpe with it's 2 mile straight exist, not to mention track days.

Mild rant over ;)

Joel.

I have thought about this, but it needs some thought because of legal implications. I'll look at it in due course, but I've got a lot of other things to do in the mean time.

Thanks for the suggestion though :)
