Thats not a UK version is it??? :D

Where are the front rubber splitters????

Stu
26-11-2002, 16:48
No reason as to why not. The corner splitters only screw on.

This is I assume a 216s so they may not have had them. They don't get fogs or a spoiler as standard either.

Not that this stops them looking top notch.

Photo investigation:D

Rear number plate is black, looks like wheel is on left, Rover nameplate on rear and rear diffuser is body colour, there ain't corner splitters too..............So yep I think it ain't UK spec either.;)

Pity it ain't got no rear mudflaps, which I thought where fitted to all export coupes?

On the subject of splitters, I'm shortly going to be getting the one off the Rover 800, which is what they use on the Roversport Race Tomcats, I don't like the gap in the middle, and this solves it.

thanks for the comments, folks...i was hoping to know what kinda differences Rovers might have amongst different countries where they are exported to. Mine's in the Asian region.

Steering's on the right-hand all right, no corner splitters and no fog lights for this stock model. hardly any mods except for the exhaust.

The head you see in the car is the wife's head, if my memory serves me right, she's probably nodded off after reading a directive on marketing and sales...the background is actually a subset of a wonderful beach...

Oh man, in the country where I live, you'd whine about car prices even before you complain about the insurance! Or the road taxes! or the electronic road pricing!

Check with your fellow Brits!:guns:

I think Nightfire Red is probably the best looking color for the Rover coupe. Over here, I've seen it in black, white, a blue that doesn't go anywhere and a horrible charcoal gray. I think these colors don't stand out as much as the Red. But it's a cool car nonetheless!

It's a beautiful turbo you have there. A great pity these machines are no longer in production. I'd miss mine when it's finally laid to the grave.

Nothing stands out like proper red ;)

As soon as I get a pic of my Nordic Blue 220 I'll post it on here. It's a pretty rare colour for a coupe, in fact I've only ever seen one other. It makes a change form the usual Tahiti blue and looks very classy (imho)

Mike VVC

Mines in a lovely metallic silver colour, I think they call it Platinum Silver.

When I bought it, there was another VVC Coupe in BRG with full green leather seats. Though it looked great at the time (but the engine was shagged) but now I definitely prefer the silver.

I think it also looks good in the Tahiti Blue & Nightfire Red, but I now think the Silver look best (but then maybe I'm biased  ?!)

STILL trying to borrow digital camera to post piccies of Blitz Induction & modified grill (as requested) - will also post some of car in general!

Mike.

I've got some GMAX -40mm springs (cost me £15, brand new;) ), and some new shocks, not uprated but better than old shocks. Fronts cost me £75, rears £31 off eBay brand new :D

My wheels are Kahn RSR lookalikes, made by Avalini Designs. Better finish than some i've seen.....

I need a replacement for my front driver side though, had a small argument with a bus and lost  . Anyone know where i can get one? Searched the web and can't find any UK distributors....

My old 1800VVC coupe - now belongs to Stu

Charcoal with grey leather is definately the best colour combination :D

There's quite some activity in this thread I started...I'm quite curious as to how old your cars are.

Mine just entered the 7th year.

Tis rare, I saw one when looking for mine, but thought it had been resprayed.

Eddie
10-01-2003, 07:33
It's called Nordic Blue, and can look either grey or blue depending on the light. Bit like a Monogram colour really:D

Looking at the Rover brochures of the time, it doesn't look as if it was offered as a standard colour, but it's on the log book and I know it hasn't been resprayed. Could the first owner have paid extra to have it done at the factory?
