The clutch in my sisters 1995 Rover 100 (which I was driving today) judders on take up in first and second. It has only been in the car 8K miles. the car has done 18K. The original clutch was replaced because it was owned by a granny who set off in third

Car has had full service, 24K service done early due to lots of short journeys in early life. I have fully greased the cable which has improved it.

Clutch was fitted by dealer about a year ago.

One idea I had was the flywheel may be slightly distorted from excessive overheating on the old clutch? But surely the dealer would have sorted this when refitting?

Car is a 1995 R100 1.1 8v injection. Bought in 2001 with a genuine 3,800 miles and full history - bargain :D

Yes, it could be - the only way to right this is to 1) Replace the flywheel - we do 1 or 2 a month or 2) Re-face the flywheel

Really difficult to say without 'experiencing' the judder.

How long has it been doing this juddering malarkey?

Could be oil contamination.............

It has judderd scince new clutch was fitted (not on old one) dealer was asked to look at it, so they must have just stood and looked at it because its no different, I guess they know they'd have to strip it down again at their expense

Cost about £250

Hmmm the only way out might be to bite the bullet and strip it out then.............
