Has anyone seen Triumph Motorbikes' latest billboard ads? A Triumph bike in the foreground, the Forth bridge in the background, and the words "Built to last". And a Union Jack next to the Triumph logo!
That's what we want to see - more stuff like that. We need to be proud of British engineering, not embarrassed about it.

No I haven't Tom, but then again in this part of the UK, my local Triumph dealer - Philip McCallen Motorcycles in Lurgan seems to have more Japanese exotica in his showroom than he does True Brit Iron.
In fact, he doesn't even have a Triumph sign visible anywhere on the outside of the premises:(
But I do like the theme of the advertisement. Reminds me of a promotional clock that I used to have with the Leyland logo on it and the strap line 'Trucks for all time'.

There's another one featuring Battersea Power Station.
Have you seen Battersea Power Station recently? ;)

I've never seen it ever.
What are you hinting at?
It's a shell - pretty much fallen down!
Walls and chimneys still there, but no roof and it's totally gutted - tragic, it's still a magnificent sight...
It was only a joke though! :)

Battersea Powerstation is an eyesore and a waste of space. They should pull the bloody thing down and build some houses that people can actually live in. People keep coming up with these weird and wacky ideas for what to do with the building, but I say, why the hell is it still there?
Because it's a brilliant example of 20s/30s architecture - I still look at it whenever I go past on the train. it's just so.... huge!
Something does need to be done with it though - there was talk of it being turned into a multiplex ciname and entertainment complex...
If you want good pictures of it in its heyday, look at the inlay on Pink Floyd's "Animals".
