: 216 (interior) re-spray
I've just picked up a mk2 216 but I don't really agree with the mustard colour dash and doors etc
Is it possible to put a mk3 dash in...easily?
Has anyone sprayed their dash, if so what colours did you spray it?
Any help would be useful
Cheers, L-A-V :)
The dash change is not too difficult. The main issue people seem to have had is with the hazard light switch.
You keep the original MkII clocks (dials) though.

Steve220 19-01-2003, 20:45 Hazard switch?? Stu, the block connector is identical mate.
The rear fogs are the pain, cause on the mk3 they're controlled by the MFU, on the mk2 they're a relay. I've found a way to get round it though ;)

 Wrong switch. I knew it was one of them.
I was speakin 2 sum1 that had owned a mk3 and they said that their mk3 dash is rattly / squeaky.
Is this common on all mk3 dash's or did they have an unlucky one?
Cheers, L-A-V :)
Mine's fine.
And its in a car designed for the MkII dash.
Steve220 19-01-2003, 21:01 dito :D Mine's loverly and quiet.
Ste
Cheers for the help :)
As the door cards are also the mustard colour :sick:would it be possible to change them or part of them?
Cheers again  L-A-V
Ben Cole 20-01-2003, 01:00 My mk3 dash is pretty squeaky rattly etc.....(98 coupe)
I don't know whether it is better or worse than the others though cos I think all rovers are pretty poor for this.
Ben.
Seats..

Dunno but i put MG ZR seats in a 220 sdi - so its probably not impossible.
roy_newell 18-08-2003, 10:08 it simply isn't possible mate, the fonts may fit but the backs are a completely different shape
why u wana put mk3 seats in a mk2 for the recaro half leathers are a much better quality of seat :D
also my dash dont squeak or rattle either! its great, I wasnt a member when i put it in, i just saw a vvc coupe the once and thought if its in that then i it can go in mine and it did, ever since i've seen loads of cars with it :D
I thought the speedo senders were different from the Mk2 and Mk3?
I'm pretty sure that MKAndy metioned this to me. I understand it didn't really present him with a huge problem when he did his, so it might be worthwhile asking him about it, (he did a fantastic job too - looks seamless).
u dont change the instrument panel, u keep the same one! or it would be saft otherwise resettin the mk3 one to fit the old mileage:lol:
That may well be what he did - I'm not sure so I decided to point the OP to someone who had actually done it!
