Hi,

I managed to kill the head gasket on my 218 SD Turbo L reg. It was on it's way out, I had worked out that the oil leak I had was coming from the head joint, but before I had chance to sort it out, it got worse, pressurising the coolant system badly, so had to stop and bleed and refill coolant system every 10 miles whilst limping home.

Car is obviously worthless at the moment, and not worth much more working, so I'm going to have a go at replacing the head gasket myself.

I have the Haynes Peugeot engine book, but any other tips anyone would like to share?

I am planning on taking head off, getting it skimmed. Do I need new head bolts or reuse old ones? How do I know what thickness gasket to get if I get head skimmed? Anything else I need to replace.
