: Mini alloys on Rover 216Si
andylockran 26-10-2005, 03:54 Hey guys,
bought some new 15" wheels through eBay, and will be fitting them later today. Set me back only £97, and three of the tyres are Pirelli P3000s with over 6mm of tread left. The other is a dunlop sp 200 e with 5mm left. Think i got a real bargain here.

I need to get some alloy wheel nuts - i'm guessing either M*t*rw*rold or H*lf&rds will have them?
Just need to get the Rover centres off evay too, so it'll all look dandy. Will post some pictures up on my site later today hopefully. Will update here when i do.

andylockran 26-10-2005, 16:24 WHATEVER YOU DO - DON'T BUY MINI ALLOYS FOR YOUR ROVER!!

whats the pcd on these then? i thought they were 4x100 the same
andylockran 26-10-2005, 16:32 I though they'd work too.
Took them to H*lf*rds and the guy there was telling me it wont work, and even refused to sell me the nuts because he thought that it would be unsafe.
Took it to a tyre and exhaust place and he said that they wouldn't do it either - it'd be cheaper for me to do it myself.. Though didn't recommend it.
I thought they'd have looked nice - really good set of alloys too..
What's PCD mean?
What's PCD mean?
Pitch Circle Diamter.. its the space between the centres of the holes.. and the 4 means how many holes there were..
did the garage not give you a reason they wont fit them?..i dont really see what the problem was
andylockran 26-10-2005, 16:42 the PCD and everything was the same.. he just said that it would look silly, possibly be unsafe and could possibly rub.
the PCD and everything was the same.. he just said that it would look silly, possibly be unsafe and could possibly rub.
so in other words he didnt want you to fit them lol.. i dont see how they would rub they arent very wide at all..the offset mite be mad on them, but i doubt it
andylockran 26-10-2005, 16:47 Well i really thought they would fit. If anyone else reckons they would then i'm prepared to give them a go.
hmm according to what i can find..the mini has an offset of 45-50mm.. rover 200 has an offset of 50mm.. so they should fit no problem at all.. maybe someone else can help shed light lol
carnage_uk 26-10-2005, 17:39 I thought the offset was et38..ish
I thought the offset was et38..ish
on the rover?.. i wasnt sure so i googled and some website called rovertech said 50mm.. so i dont know myself.. 38 sounds better
andylockran 26-10-2005, 18:00 They must be 38, because they definately don't fit. Just tried putting them on with a mate... following problems.
Bolts not long enough,
lack of clearance - far too deep...
Sorry guys. If you don't believe me though you can buy them and try yourself... address at top of thread.
Steve220 26-10-2005, 18:11 was gonna ask why you didn't try fitting them yourself.
The studs are long enough, the bolts are different and won't reach far enough
Steve
andylockran 26-10-2005, 18:44 It's such a shame - i am pretty sure that they might work.. but everyone i have got to help me has talked me out of it.
Hopefully i'll make a profit on these and get myself something nice. If anyone see's anything that'll fit the 200 off ebay for under £150, with decent tyres, please let me know (if you don't snap them up yourself).
I considered putting MINI rims on my 200 some while ago and all the info I found suggested they'd fit. Apparently not - live and learn, eh...?

Dead confusing... you'd think a Beemer 4 pin config would be the same across the board.. oh well.
 Well they are (I thought) 4x100 with a similar offset...
Ive seen 16" hairpins on a new mini so im damn sure mini wheels should fit on a Rover, After all Rover designed the mini thats why its got the same hub pattern as the 200. Stuff Halfords and thick fit get the jack out and have a go its not that hard!

i see you didnt read the tread :eyes:
as he did say he`s tried them and they dont fit
biker18yr 31-10-2005, 19:07 question? which bit dosnt fit. is it the hub centre or the PCD or the off set???
cheers just innterested.
andylockran 01-11-2005, 18:18 It's the offset - the wheels are too wide for the car. The pins fit in ok - not sure that the centre hole is the same size though - but once the offset didn't work i wasn't really in the mood to see whether that was ok or not.
They're on ebay now, so if you think there's a chance they'll fit your car - feel free to have a go! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8011029932&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
ENJOY!
