Engine management light on. Help!!

Can anyone please help me??

My Rover 75 1,8 has this problem, that whenever it is started the enginemanagement light comes on and stayes on. What could be the problem??

Somebody told me it could be the coilpack!!

    when it happened to me I took it into the Tyre (kwik Fit) garage who put it on a diagnostic said nothing was wrong and turned it off no charge would try this first
