Removing/swapping seat subframes Part Two

Once these are out, just pull the plastic shroud away, but it'll probably pop off when the final nub is out.

You're left with removing two bolts per side, and the seat belt retainer.




Use the T50 Torx bit on each of the bolts. They're torqued up, but a quality bit won't have any problems at all:

This is an easy swap, once you get the four bolts out to remove the actual seat from the car (these can be really corroded and stuck - get a Teng/Snap On torx bit, don't use cheap stuff that will strip the head).

All the bolts are T50 torx bolts. You'll need a small screw driver to remove the plastic caps on the seats.

I removed leather seats from a scrapped MGF, but the seats had halfway been removed, as most of the bolts had been stripped. It was my job to remove...

Disassembling MGF rear caliper

Got round to doing this - had two spare calipers I did a test run on. Both seized handbrake mechanisms!

One was a standard, straight from factory, 10 year old caliper. The other was a fairly new reconditioned caliper I bought for 90 quid including exchange for old one.

Unscrewed the main piston from the caliper, looking down into the chamber:

MGF Clutch Release Arm Lubrcating

Hi there, The clutch on my MGF 1.8 kseries(118bhp) has been quite stiff ever since I bought the car seven months ago. Thought this was normal for these cars at the time and did'nt think much of it. The garage I boght the car from said the clutch had been done not long before I bought the car. Anyway, I recently noticed that it was becoming harder to press and today started to slip when the engine was cold. Reading other posts on here has lead me to belive that it's the clutch release arm that needs...
