You can't just say the car is not competitive without backing it up.

Have you even been watching the BTCC?

In qualifying the cars throughout the whole grid are very close generally, the qualifying for this weekend was still close, only 1.odd seconds between the top cars and most of the rear markers.

The field is closer than it ever has been, with a lot of rookies or newer drivers that were always mid pack or back markers now running at the front or winning. Mostly due to the balancing of cars on the grid with all the tweaks and performance boosts or reductions to various cars or teams.

The car has undergone full upgrade to the RML specs as are the other cars, new drivers again getting used to a new car to them, add everything up and it's no wonder teams are struggling and others now are running better than they have done.

Also accidents that have involved the 888 cars have cost points and places due to a number of reasons, the same as happens to other teams.

Look at Plato in his Subaru, he is really struggling with the car this season so it's not just 888 MG that are the only ones having trouble.

All of the cars are so competitive bow it's hard to qualify as well as everyone would like, hopefully they will get a grip on the new set up and make it work better and start improving.

Some of it is pure bad luck, last race weekend at Donnington Dan showed some amazing pace and was starting to pick places up then an incident sent him off.

There has been a lot of bashing 888/MG over the years they have been running the 6 from fans etc.

Yes they are struggling at the moment we can see that but there is more to it than the car is old hat and can't compete imo.
