Is MG ZR 2.0TD Cambelt same as Freelander 1 2.0 ?

Hi,

I'm about to buy a cambelt for my 2003 MG ZR+ TD I think the part number is: lhn 100760 but when I'm searching I'm only getting Freelander 1 2.0 coming up. Presumably this is the same engine and so would fit fine?

Thanks in advance
Louis

I think there are 2 types of belt, one slightly wider than the other. Your best bet is probably just to go to your local motor factors armed with the engine no. and see what they have. Are you just replacing the cambelt? The fuel pump belt will want replacing as well, and it is often a good idea to do the tensioners and idler at the same time.

Most people on here would recommend getting the full gates kit as the safest bet with regards to quality and having everything changed over.

Yeah - for the sake of a few more quid, the full Monty every time. I've done two changes now and although the displaced parts showed hardly any signs of wear, you can't beat peace of mind.
Gates kits are very reasonably priced - I don't need another until 150k+ miles (at 125k now)
Here's where I got mine:-

Last belt change I got a belt kit complete together with a new coolant pump all for 145 delivered within 48 hrs. (turned out it wasn't the pump leaking but a badly fitted 'O' ring on the pump cover! - bah)

You're welcome. If you are a DIY nut, the job's easy peasy with a couple of drill bits etc - just do a search and there is a load of info on this fantastic forum.
