Sump Nut Washer

How important are these to replace? every guide tells you to change this at every oil change, but i have done dozens of oil changes on many of my cars and never had any problems with using the old one.

Just wondering, now I have a 'decent' car weather I should start changing it?

Like yourself, done many oil changes.

Like yourself, never changed the washer.

Like yourself, never had any problems.

Iv done a fair few changes in the Rover aswell, never changed the washer and still havnt had any problems with it. The way i see it is that the actual nut itself is the wear and tear item, the washer just sits there.

Steel bolt in aluminium sump thread with soft copper washer. Think the bolt is the last bit that will wear.
