hi boots

you dont have to put the 'forums.mg-rover.org' bit in, just the link to the picture wrapped in [ IMG ] tags

same again buddy, you've got http://forums.mg-rover.org in IMG tags aswell as the image itself, get rid of that and it will work, just IMG /IMG with the link to the photo in between

If you save your pictures as JPEG you will find they are considerably smaller than windows default type BMP. I may do another tutorial later and show you how to do this. Once you have finished your text, and you have your picture sized correctly on your PC, click on the "Manage Attachments" button in the Additional Options section to bring up the file selection dialog box. Browse to your picture and click "Open"
There is another really simple way to resize, crop, compress and generally manage images if you have Microsoft Office 2003 on. Click Start, All Programmes, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office Tools and you will find Microsoft Picture Manager. It's a neat little programme. Dont know why Microsoft hide it away?

... I have read that:
"As a member, you can create Albums of images that are linked to your public profile. Albums can be created by visiting the User Control Panel, and clicking on the 'Pictures & Albums' link, and then clicking on 'Add Album'."

I have looked in the User Control Panel ... but cannot find the 'Pictures & Albums' link mentioned ...

... would add a picture ... but I can't ... :-)

FYI at:
http://forums.mg-rover.org/faq.php?f..._subs_faq_what

In the section:
"What do we get for becoming a supporter?"

It says that:

Basic Member (i.e. not a supporter)
- 5 PMs
- Cannot upload pics into gallery
- Cannot start polls
- Cannot attach files
- Cannot post in forsale section
- Cannot upload an avatar
- Cannot use a signature
- Can upload up to 15 photos to their Albums (in total, not per Album)
- Can write their own blog
- Can join social groups
- Other than that, you can post & reply as you wish (within the rules, naturally!).

I know that, but this is not possible to just registered user, only supporter. I suppose rules changed during the time, and they did not adjusted written rules...

I can do the Photobucket thing ok and have no trouble attaching it to my replies, but in spite of using the re-sizing tool (grab & drag the corners) the picture still reverts to full size when saved. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong please.
