Thanks for that guys, but now that i have received this 'panel' it comes with what looks like a relay, what would this be for? As i didn't think i needed another.

Cheers

The ones that come with a relay can be hooked up the same way, or a more complicated way which incorporates the relay... pointless extra work IMO.

So my seperate relay need not be connected?

This would make everything a little simpler!

Cheers,

Thanks for the tips guys! Got the button and switch in and it started first push! Will look good once its all secured in place, the little panel fits almost perfectly where the drivers side heater vent should be! I'll get some pic's up once its sorted.

hey up!

Just found this and wanted to say, nice how to dude! Sounds very easy to do... how ever, about swtichs and buttons!

When I had a Rover Mini neon, I got a push start switch as a gift, but then never got around to fitting it. Theres alot of wires and bits with it... So all I need really is just two wires to a simple push button and it works?

My push start button set has:

- One metal panal
- A very large relay
- A HUGE push button
- Extra switch with red LED bulit in
- and another LED

Do I really need all of that? ... Or just the button! From the looks of it, I'd say the whole button lights up some how as you push it, But Im no egg head with electrionics!

The kits that come with the relay are overkill really, they take the long, difficult approach to doing something, which, as I've highlighted in this How To, is actually very simple

Wire Colours

Does anyone know what colour the wires are that go to the starter motor in a 1.6 MGTF??
My button & relay is in but i dont kno which ones to connect to? There's a yellow & yellow/black cables that are thicker than the others so am i right in assuming these are the ones to connect to?
