Exclamation Dr Dave can you help please??

Tried IRC UK for the EKA code and they can't help. NZ Rover dealers have updated their computers and they have no older 'NZ new' car data.. bless them.. aargh!.

Do you know a way round this?

Cheers

NZ Rovers

I'm told Rover NZ relies on accessing the EKA codes from the UK for our NZ new cars, perhaps this is no longer possible?

NZ's Rover fleet is a majority of Japanese and Singapore 2nd hand imports, I'm told it is next to impossible to get any info for these cars from Rover NZ or anywhere for that matter!

I am a Trade Certified diesel technician and have own many Rover~Landrover products, the 200 K series is becoming an epidemic
for problems here in NZ now.

Red face Imobiliser off

My '98 220SDi has the 'L' model imobiliser unit

Now that I've managed to switch the imobiliser off is there a wire I can delete at the unit to keep this permanently off? cheers

You can get the EKA code with diagnostic equipment. I've done it a few times.

Entering the EKA code is straight forward, however all locks are different, if you nip onto our website and click on eka code entry instructions you will find the instructions and tips....

If the fobs work in unlocking the car and turning the immobiliser off, then the EKA code might not be any use for you.

If the alarm keeps going off, it is likely there is either a sensor fault somewhere, or if you have a 2004 or later model, it could be water in the alarm sounder (siren).

The alarm test mode might help in identifying a dodgy switch: How to - test the switches on your rover 400, including door switches!

I'm absolutely disgusted at the whole scenario also. I have had nothing but problems with my MGZS alarm/fob for the past few months. I purchased an 'EKA' code from 'MG-ROVER-CODES' on here (which came through on the email as a 'Renault' code!!!????) which simply does not work. I have tried everything suggested on this forum, from adding +1 on both the 2nd and 4th numbers, to waiting 5 and 10 minutes before trying to enter the car, but all I can think is that the code is wrong. Worse still, if I hold the key in the 'lock' position for 5 secs, after about 3 or 4 secs, the indicator lights all start to flash like the 'silent' alarm is on. No matter what on earth I try, no matter what combination, it always ends up wit the indicator lights flashing, and eventually I give up, leave the car overnight, then for some messed up reason, the remote central locking seems to work again?!

Can anyone at ALL advise? It's so frustrating, especially after the money I have wasted on an EKA code that simply does not work

I don't know if you are still around this forum, its a few years since your post on this.
I would like to thank you for your information on the rover database error, i had just purchased the code for my 220 and was in the process of pulling the last of my hair out when i found your post, it worked like a charm.
Thank you again.

Hey no problem Snowball. I think it was on my 220 that I found out that the EKA code was not the same as it should be on the 2nd and 4th digit, probably from another member on here, so thanks to whoever posted the information back then. Glad my post helped you out.

rover streetwise 2004 how to enter code

I have got the code but unable to enter it to the car. I have followed the instructions provided here;
http://www.mgrovercodes.com/support/
but no luck. Do I have to add 1 in 2nd and 4rth digits of the code?
Sometimes car horn bleeps once after unlocking car at the end of the code.
my question is when you enter code correctly does the immobiliser light go off straight away or it goes off after 5 minutes wait? Thanks is advance.

Rover streetwise eka code - www.mgrovercodes.com

Some vehicle's you can add a extra digit to the code but that's more common with the older models.

If the horn beeps it indicates the code has not been entered correctly.

Once the eka code has been entered correctly the immobiliser light will go off with some mg or rovers you need to wait 5 to 10 minutes before opening the door.

Still not winning

Hi I have an MG TF 2003

Fob is dead tried changing bateries etc did not work bought the EKU from mgrovercodes.com

When I enter the code as per their instructions when I turn to open the horn sounds. I then wait 5 minutes as per instructions but the imobiser light starts flashing as soon as I open the door and when I turn the key it beeps at me.

I have tried phoning their support but she put the phone down on me. eventually got through again and she refered me here. Tried the recommendations with no joy. Emailed their support but no reply. Any suggestion would be gratefully accepted

thanking you
Simon

eka code

Simon,

Jonjoe here the owner of mgrovercodes.com.

I wold like to mention that Catherine did not put down the telephone, due to bad weather were we are located the high winds took down the mast!

Unfortuantly we only supply the EKA code and instructions that we were supplied with the data, the reason Catherine referred you to this forum was she is aware that many people have issues with EKA code and knows that there are many members on here who can help you out

Regards
Jonjoe

Thank you Jonjoe

That is all very well however your website guarantees your codes to work and the one you supplied me does not! Therefore your guarantee is plainly false!

Your assistance in solving my problem would be greatly apreciated.

Kind regards
simon
