Wow, that chrome was a ******. Tip: When you've got a chunk in the pliers, up away from the grill and not along it, it comes off in bigger chunks. Took me about 2 hours to do, couple of bits (Sides) were awful to get off.

Bit miffed by the end result, I bought 'Tahiti Blue' from my local shop, a holts can, and used Holts grey primer, but the colour is noticeably lighter than my car. Will be leaving it for a while though, so if you see a blue rover with a light blue grill, it's me

Edit: And yes, my O/S fog light surround isn't there

Having a different Rover outside my house every day ...People thought I was the Main Rover Dealer, so the number plate appeared at my door 1 day when someone found it lying about!

Yeah, the one below I had painted by Rover, because no other paints (or paint specialists) would/could match the 'ocean blue', and it was as cheap for Rover to paint it (& colour code mirrors) as it was to buy the paint from them, & then have it painted elsewhere. Plus Rover Dealer, made a fantastic job of it, far exceeding what I had expected.

thought id add mine too from my old 25. i used different mesh

de chroming is a *****, but defo worth it. it will last so much longer

i used a stanley knife, heat gun and needle nose pliers. heating it up a bit gave the plastic a bit of "give" and i found i ddnt make any nicks. also, the chrome does seem to peel off easier

Buy lots of stanley knife blades prior to doing this, the tips dont last long, and wear gloves, the chrome is sharp as ****!

That grade of mesh is cool as **** but a real fly catcher

just reading your comments about the chrome on the outer grille, is it an actual metal coating or is it plasticy? if its some sort of sprayed on plastic like in a model kit then soaking it in bleach will dissolve it

another thing, can a ZR mesh be easily fitted?
