Hello Paul
Unfortunately are not able to sell just relays but as this is a spares
product you can still purchase the SCU from Caterpillar Xpart who deals
with Rover spares.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards

Strange that they point me towards XPart when their own spares section lists the SCU as a complete item available for 125.

Willow Electronics have not replied... so annoying.

An American component supplier have been extremely helpful, hopefully it will bear fruit.
you can get relays off E.bay i just did worked a treat, just type in pekron replacement relays, and up it pops 7.86 each, i ordered them and got them next day., and my zr td has everything working, one point these new ones are 40amp load which are better than the silly originals, so i replaced them all, you will need to unsolder the old one,s and resolder in new one's, or you could get a rover dealer to do it and charge you for a recon board, like one of them tried with me, hmmmm 300 not think so. also when i refitted the scu box back to car i covered it with a water proof bag worth doing. if anyone is having problems doing this you could send box to me on next day post and i'd fix it and send back next post, email;terry.wilkinson67@btinternet.com.

Interesting post.

I am trying to convert a mk2 zs from manual to electric front windows, the installation of components has been fine, however I can't get either of the front windows to operate, is this likely to be a failed relay in the scu, or do I possibly have a problem elsewhere.

All advice gratefully received.

The SCU has to have the windows "enabled".

This in turn activates the SCU control of the external relay which supplies 12 volt power to the windows and it also enables the Drivers window relay within the SCU.

Ah right.

Thank you for the quick reply, someone else has also suggested this might need doing, now to find someone to do it.

I'm not sure it's that straightforward, you need to find someone with T4 diagnostics to do it I believe?

I take it your ZS is a 110 or 120? Mine has been fitted with aftermarket electric windows and someone has made a right hash of the wiring. Thinking it couldn't of worked on my scu, so they wired the windows to the cigarette lighter via a 30amp fuse.

Evening all,

I've only got one fob left with my '05 ZR. I bought 2 new fobs (sealed with barcodes on packaging) and went to MG Silverlink to enquire about costs. They said there's only a 50% chance of successfully linking them together without the SCU going scatty and going into lock down mode. Is there any truth in this? I'm a bit wary about going with only 1 fob for so long!

I used www.mgroverservices.co.uk they enabled all the functions in the scu, and coded 2 new fobs, 100% success.

No, this is usually caused by a faulty IC which controls the relay.

This IC, a TPIC6C595, is marked as "D" in the pictures at the beginning of this thread.

Is it going to be the ic that is faulty as my fog lights turn on and off as they should its only the horn sticking on. These are definatly controled by the same IC? I have ordered some of these ic's to try. Do I Need to remove the cenre console to get to the scu. Once again thankyou for the order details

This IC can control up to 8 separate items, such as the relays fitted to the SCU.

A single channel in the IC can fail yet the other 7 channels continue to operate properly.

The horn fault is quite common with the SCU, I have never known it to be anything other than the driver IC.

Red face Alarm wont sound

Hi
I have a 2005 tf problem where my alarm wont sound the hazards flash but no horn. the horn works fine in everyday use but nothing when alarm is activated. Wiring diagrams show a power sounder with battery back up, but the manual talks about it sounding the horns under the bonnet. Any help/info would be much appreciated, thanks.
